CONTRIVE Set Release Date For Debut Album

August 1, 2005

Australian power trio CONTRIVE will release their debut album, "The Meaning Unseen", on September 5 via Shock Records. The CD was mixed by famed producer Fredrik Nordström at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg.

Nordström, who is known for delivering some amazing sounds from top metal acts such as DIMMU BORGIR, OPETH, ARCH ENEMY and THE HAUNTED, to name a few, took great attention to ensure that the final result was something the band were happy with. "Fredrik has brilliantly captured the true spirit of our sound," the group write in a statement. CONTRIVE are also the first band from Australia to have an album mixed at the infamous studio.

Two songs from "The Meaning Unseen""By Way of Choice" and "Beside Yourself" — are available for listening at MySpace.com.

Currently unsigned, CONTRIVE are shopping the record around overseas for some stable distribution.

Since 2001, CONTRIVE have shared stages with MACHINE HEAD, SEPULTURA, SOILWORK, DESTRUCTION, MAYHEM, SKINLAB, ALCHEMIST, COG and MINDSNARE, among others.
